At Pertinent, we have developed a unique combination of eco-friendly and effective plant-derived active ingredients to replace traditional pest control products. We use science and rigorous testing to enhance the natural insecticidal power of plants.
Pertinent was started by a founding team that worked for years in the traditional chemical pesticide industry. They believe the industry is due for a change. Without compromising efficacy, our team set out to find eco-friendly solutions that worked just as well as traditional chemical pesticides.
Our state of the art lab is based in North Carolina, and our expert scientists have tested hundreds of formulations to bring the best to market. After seeing what works in the lab, it’s time to head to the field for more testing. In partnership with farmers and organizations around the US, we do independent in-field testing to ensure our formulations work in any setting.
Our products work by weakening insects’ external armor, leading them to become dehydrated and desiccated. At the same time, they target neuro-receptors that are only active in insects. This innovative dual mode of action works even on insects that have become resistant to traditional chemical pesticides.
